Exit Slip

It is necessary for us to combine the two formulas because the height formula is necessary so the surface area formula could be fully generalized. If I had to do this to my can I would have to find the height formula first and the fully generalize the surface area next by replacing the height with the formula.

The overall task of the PBAT is to make the can have the same volume but with using less material. We have to change the radius and the height also changes when the radius gets higher. The surface area also decreases when the radius changes but the volume stays the same.

Exit Slip

We changed the radius for our own cans and then we found the height. The matematical tools we used today was a calculator. This was helpful because with the calculator we were not going top make a mistake that easily. It also made my work easier because I didnt have to think for my answer.

I helped Alex find his diameter and radius. I also helped him calculate his surface area. I was able to acomplish finishing my volume calculations and my surface area calculations. I was also able to find my diameter, height , and radius. I have no questions and I really dont know how I would use this outside of school.

Exit Slip 11.1

both columns of the tables decrease then increase

In the Graph y2 is more narrower than y1 and y1 is more wider. There is a vertical shift because there is a large gap between them. There is no horizontal shift.

We had to add another column and then were it says C1 we write the equation we want to use. In C2 we write equation again. The equation I used was y=-3x^2. After that I just drag the line so the answers to the equation would appear. Then I had to compare the two functions and They were similar because just the answers were the same thing but just one of them were negative. One had a curve going up and the other curve went going down.
